Packing Boards
Woodfibre packing boards are lightweight yet robust, providing reliable protection for goods during transport. Their natural and biodegradable properties make them a sustainable choice for packaging solutions, contributing to a greener future.
Our products
Wood fibre packing boards provide a lightweight protective layer for industrial storage and transport. They can be converted into inlays, separators, support pads, pallet-stabilising layers and edge protection for suitable goods. Share the product, load case, dimensions, handling route and destination requirements so the board and packaging design can be validated before rollout.

Protective fibreboard for industrial packaging
Packing boards help separate, cushion and stabilise products as they move through production, storage and transport. ISOpakk packing boards are Nordic Fibreboard’s wood-fibre softboard solution for B2B packaging applications where a low-density, cuttable and adaptable protective material is required.
The board can be used as a flat inlay between stacked goods, a separator within a pack, a support pad on a pallet or a converted strip around vulnerable edges. Potential applications include doors, furniture, panels, glass-related products, building materials and industrial components, subject to a packaging trial. The final design should account for product weight, fragility, surface sensitivity, compression, vibration, humidity, stacking and transport duration.
Match the packaging to the risk
Effective transport protection starts with the actual damage mechanism. Scratching may require a clean, compatible contact surface. Edge impact may need a converted protector and secure retention. Concentrated loads may require thicker or denser support. Vibration and repeated handling can expose weaknesses that are not visible in a static sample.
For this reason, packing boards should be tested as part of the complete pack with the intended product, pallet, wrap, straps, container and route. A board that performs well as a separator may not be the correct load-bearing support. Likewise, soft fibre protection does not eliminate the need for moisture protection, bracing or other packaging components.
A wood-fibre alternative with practical conversion options
ISOpakk offers manufacturers and packaging converters a fibre-based alternative to some foam or plastic protection formats. It can be cut to application-specific dimensions, helping customers reduce excess material and integrate the board into repeatable packing processes. Standard and custom options remain subject to current production feasibility, volume and commercial terms.
Environmental claims should reflect the whole packaging system and the destination market. Wood fibre is a renewable material, but recyclability, biodegradability, extended-producer-responsibility treatment and disposal routes depend on the exact product, contamination, local collection systems and applicable legislation. Confirm these points rather than applying a universal “green packaging” label.
What to provide for a packaging assessment
Send Nordic Fibreboard the packed product description, weight, contact surfaces, board function, required dimensions, annual volume, packing-line process, transport mode, route and destination-market requirements. State whether the board will be used as supplied or converted by another partner. If a regulation or standard such as phytosanitary, food-contact, dangerous-goods or customer-specific packaging rules applies, identify it explicitly so the documentation scope can be checked.
Prototype the proposed format and complete realistic handling or transport trials before serial use. Once the board and pack are approved, recurring dimensions and supply can be discussed with Nordic Fibreboard’s B2B team.
